In the previous article, we discussed the most important prompt parameters for AI to generate relevant results. These parameters help AI understand what we need, like, or want. However, let’s take a different perspective – one that’s not AI-centered but human-centered.

What is one of the most important parameters in our lives? Many would agree it’s time – the one resource we can’t buy or recover. As humans, we need to consider this when communicating with AI. While AI thrives on detailed prompts with numerous parameters, from a human perspective, we aim to get the desired results as quickly as possible. So, which prompt parameters can we provide the fastest?

In a previous article, we highlighted the ultimate list of the most important prompt parameters:

• Specific Topic or Context/Background
• Clear Objective/Purpose
• Desired Outcome
• Desired Format/Style
• Specific Details or Parameters
• Keywords and Phrases

Some of these parameters, like topic, format, style, and keywords, are quicker to write, while others, like context, background, and the objective, may take more time to articulate. It varies depending on the individual and the task at hand.

However, there’s one parameter not in this list that can save significant time when entering prompts: Examples or Reference Points.

This parameter wasn’t selected for our ultimate list because it ranked in the middle of importance. Yet, it’s highly effective in many complex prompts, particularly for research or custom GPTs. Examples can convey a lot of information about the desired style, format, structure, and outcome. Beyond aiding the AI, this parameter is a huge time-saver – if you have an example of what you need, simply copy it into the prompt and you’re done!

To save time and achieve more consistent, predictable outcomes, it’s helpful to maintain a list of examples. By doing so, you can streamline the process and make your interactions with AI faster and more effective.
